“With Panama Pictures, Pia Meuthen initially allowed dance and literature to blend with one another. She changed her path in 2011 by making a short dance performance, in which she collaborated with three students from the Fontys Academy for Circus and Performance Art [ACaPA] in Tilburg.”

“For all kinds of reasons, I found the circus world a revelation. One: the deep trust that performers must have in each other. Two: the physical risks they take. Three: the expansion with a spatial dimension – you can use the up-space in your performance. Four: the directness and realness of circus. You can’t fake.””Since then, she has merged contemporary dance and circus.”
