Title of your performance (in progress): Spaces – installation number one
What are you exploring during your residency: During the residencies at Panama Pictures we will finalise the elements of the installation. The installation incorporates different materials and elements that will create a synergy to develop an everchanging space where the audience can interact and connect with the installation.
During the various residencies we will work in the definition of the last design details of the work, additionally we want to explore how the installation is interacting with humans. And how this interaction can be percieved on a sensational level.
What is your performance about: Spaces is a multidisciplinary project combining installation, light art and performances. The exposition will recreate naturalistic spaces using non-natural materials. In this artistic process we experiment with materials like mirrors, metals and fabrics like organza, that allow us to play with their ability to reflect lights.
Interacting with the elements in four different rooms, Spaces provides the public with an experience of self-perception and reflection in research of identity. The exposition invites people in the audience as single individuals to take time to perceive themselves in the space in relation to the installation. To connect to their physical body, sensations and inner feelings. At the same time establishing a sense of community through this shared openness to receive and experience in the different rooms.
Brief biography: Cecilia Rosso (born in 1996 in Voghera, Italy) she studied at Cirko Vertigo, Grugliasco (2015-2017) and at the Academy of Circus and Performance Art, Tilburg (2017-2021) where she developed her technique on aerial straps and hair hanging.Attracted by different art forms, she started to experiment mixing her circus knowledge with other media such as plastic art and visual art. In 2022 she created the collective Profondo Rosso where she is the director and performer.
Profondo Rosso is an international and interdisciplinary collective founded by Cecilia Rosso. Profondo Rosso combines the fields of performance, visual arts and plastic arts, to create dramaturgies around human themes. The work of the collective focuses on performances and installations that involve the public to create a deeper connection with the performer.
