Since 2021, circus/dance company Teatime Company and circus maker Julian Vogel have joined our company as ‘associated artists’.

We believe in the exceptional talent of Julian Vogel and Teatime Company. We recognise kinship in their interdisciplinary working practice but also see great individuality in the development of their artistic signature. Both stretch the boundaries of the new circus.

In tailor-made projects, we assist them artistically and organisationally. Our artistic team makes itself available to advise and give feedback on dramaturgy, movement language, composition, set, costume and lighting design.

In addition, ‘associated artists’ can spar with the business leader and marketing officer on sales, network building and the right marketing choices. They can rehearse in our studio and invite work field and audiences for presentations and viewings.

We reserve to scout talents and deliberately do not work with registration based on plans. Decisive factors in the selection include working in the border area of circus and dance, the need to develop one’s own movement language and the need to do research together with Panama Pictures’ artistic team.

The associated artist programme does not cover an exact time span, but adjusts the form of the collaboration according to what is needed. Each year, we reassess what support fits the stage the maker is in.

Panama Pictures aims to add a new associated artist to the programme in 2027. The other two will remain associated with the house.
